How we score CEXs

Our CEX reviews focus on what actually matters for users: trading experience, fees, accessibility and trust. We assess each platform based on the quality of the overall experience it offers users, from fiat onboarding, through trading, to onchain withdrawals.

Trading experience: We look at how intuitive and efficient each platform feels in practice, from placing and managing trades to navigating the interface. Exchanges that offer smooth order execution, responsive interfaces and a functional mobile experience score higher than those that are clunky, buggy or overloaded with distractions.

Fees and real costs: We break down spot and derivatives trading fees, but also consider hidden costs: spreads, slippage, withdrawal charges and fiat conversion fees. Platforms with predictable, low-cost trading and fair pricing models are rated more favorably.

Product range and availability: We assess the variety of each exchange’s products — spot, futures, staking and all other offerinfs in the lineup — and whether these are actually available in major user regions. A wide product lineup doesn’t count for much if it’s locked behind geo-restrictions or higher KYC tiers.

Security, licensing and transparency: We consider the exchange’s regulatory standing, proof-of-reserve disclosures and history of incidents. Platforms with visible licensing, regular audits and a clean security record score better than those that operate in regulatory grey zones without oversight.

User access and onboarding: We factor in how easy it is to sign up, verify and start trading. Exchanges that balance compliance with accessibility, keeping onboarding friction low, rank more highly.

The final score reflects the real user experience on each exchange. Our goal is to highlight the CEXs that deliver the best overall experience for both beginners and advanced traders.
